Have a qualified High Country Guide take you on a trip down the Chattahoochee River from Johnson Ferry put-in to Powers Island take-out and teach you the basics of paddling in a 3-4 hour long course. A student will come away from this class with the confidence to purchase/rent their own boat and get out on the water. The class entails basic paddle stroke technique, reading a rapid, kayak safety, how to enter and launch a kayak, as well as how to properly tie one to your car. All rental gear is included in the class price and each student will get the opportunity to try various kinds of boats/paddles, in addition, if you end up purchasing a new kayak from High Country Outfitters we will refund your class price to the purchase of the boat. Classes are every other Thursday, meet at Johnson Ferry Put-in and start at 6:30pm, price is $65.00/person.
